The Art of Amanda Hone - Gallery

Simply put, these are a selection of my square abstracts. Utilising masking tape to cleanly separate each square from its neighbour, I enjoy experimenting with various optical effects within the confines of a simple grid. Painted with palette knife, or brush or in some cases with fingers alone, these paintings often surprise me. I can only speculate as to how a finished work will look until all the masking tape is removed and the completed painting is revealed.
